Tutorials: Managing Flow Versions

Learn how to manage your Flow versions in the Voxtelesys Flow Builder.

Required access: Voxtelesys Portal

Managing your Flow Version is very easy from the Voxtelesys Portal, every time you publish a new version of your Flow we automatically "take a backup" of the previous version. That way, if you break something, you can quickly get back to your previous version!

Please Note: your account is limited to 25 versions across all Flows, and you will not be able to publish a new version if you have reached this limit. If you require more versions, please contact Support to request an increase in your limit.

*Disclaimer: You will need to have Voice API enabled on your account to do this you will need to open a ticket with support.

To find the Versions, you can go to the flow you want to check and then click on Version History. In this tab, you can see all of the published versions of your Flow.

The Version History is where you can view, edit, and delete these versions. In addition, to set a different version as the live version of your Flow, simply click the broadcast button next to the version you want to become live.

To the right there are two versions displayed: the "Current Workspace" and the "Test 1" Live version. The Current Workspace represents the version you are actively working on and saving locally. The Live version represents the published version

To change a version you need to publish it! Once published it is now the live version.

In our example, we created a new version and named it "Live."

"Live" is a simple Flow that will either send an SMS or hangup the call

To view a previous version, you can click on the version and it will be displayed in a read-only state. Versions cannot be edited. If you wish to make changes to a version, you can load it into the current workspace by pressing “Set as Current Workspace."

Please Note: loading a version into the current workspace will completely overwrite the contents of the current workspace. If you want to return to the current workspace without loading a previous version, simply click “Current Workspace” in the Version History and you will be able to resume editing your Flow.

For Example, If you click on the old "Test 1" version:

A warning message will appear. After you confirm that you want to make this your primary workspace, click "Set as Current Workspace."

Selecting "Test 1" as the current workspace will replace your current work with an older version. To activate the current version, click "Publish."

Sometimes, when you are working on a Flow you might make many small changes and publish a lot of versions, to clean this up you can delete any versions from your history.

Now that you know how to manage your version history you can continue to master the Voxtelesys Flow Builder!
