What is a PBX Phone System?
A PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is a private telephone network used within a company or organization. These can be used to communicate internally or with the rest of the world with the help of further channels such as VoIP, etc.
What is a PBX Line/SIP Line?
PBX Lines/SIP Lines are interchangeable with "ports," "channels," "concurrent call paths," and "SIM calls - Simultaneous Calls."
Can I keep my old numbers?
Yes. You can port your old numbers over to us.

How long does it take to port numbers to Voxtelesys?
For local numbers, it takes around 1-2 weeks depending on the responsiveness of the losing carrier (your old carrier). The porting process itself should be seamless, with little to no downtime.
Does Voxtelesys require contracts?
Our SIP service is no contract, month-to-month. A contract may be used only under a special design or application.
What is e911?
E911, or Enhanced 911, ties a location to a 911 call. It is required for every PBX, so we configure it after you sign up.

What is a Local DID?
DID stands for Direct Inward Dial, which is essentially a phone number that is used over SIP/VoIP. DIDs can be dialed from anywhere just like an old POTS/landline. Your Voxtelesys DID can also be used for outbound dialing!

What is a short duration call?
A short duration (SD) call is any call that is less than 6 seconds. We allow a maximum of 15% for SD calls on our network. If you have more than 15% of calls under 6 seconds, we can get your account set up on our call center routes that allow a higher percentage of SD calls.

What is a Hosted PBX?
A Hosted PBX is a phone system installed in a cloud environment. The benefits of having a Hosted PBX includes reducing networking gear/servers in your office and allowing remote access. It also typically allows for remote connections via soft clients, like computer/mobile apps, making remote work a reality.
Does Voxtelesys offer a Hosted PBX?
Yes! Voxtelesys currently offers 3CX as a hosted PBX solution. 3CX is robust, easy to configure, secure, and much, much more.

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration/communication app that allows its users to share files, host web meetings, chat, and more; all within one location. More recently, Teams has been expanding their phone system features, which is where we come in!
What is Teams Direct Routing?
Teams Direct Routing is used to connect your Microsoft phone system (Teams) to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). This allows your Teams users to dial external calls and receive incoming calls with their Teams app or phones. In this scenario, Teams is your PBX.
What is the VoxSBC?
The VoxSBC is a session border controller (SBC) that Voxtelesys developed to connect Teams to our SIP trunking! We host the SBC in our data facilities, taking the burden of hosting your own SBC.
